The Gueydan Journal

Minutes of proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Gueydan Drainage District taken at regular meeting held on December 7, 2023 with the following members:

PRESENT: DAVID SIMON, KIRBY HENRY,
and LUTHER E. HARDEE, III
ABSENT: KEITH HENSGENS and JEFFREY P. SCANLAN

Motion was made by KIRBY HENRY, seconded by DAVID SIMON, and unanimously carried, that the reading of the minutes of the regular meeting held on November 8, 2023 be dispensed with and that same be adopted as written.

Motion was made by KIRBY HENRY, seconded by DAVID SIMON, and unanimously carried, that all bills approved by the finance committee be paid.

Since Notice had been published in the Gueydan Journal, the official journal, that a Public Hearing would be held to consider the adoption of the Budget for the year beginning January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024 and there being no opposition voiced for or against, motion was made by DAVID SIMON, seconded by KIRBY HENRY to close the Public Hearing.

Motion was made by DAVID SIMON, seconded by KIRBY HENRY, and unanimously carried, that the following Budget for the Calendar Year 2024 be and the same is hereby approved:

In accordance with Resolution entered by the Gueydan Drainage District with Vermilion Soil and Water Conservation District on July 9, 2018, motion was made by DAVID SIMON, seconded by KIRBY HENRY, and carried, that the yearly allocation of $1,500.00 be paid to Vermilion Soil and Water Conservation District for services to be provided.

There being no further business to come before the meeting, motion was made by KIRBY HENRY, seconded by LUTHER E. HARDEE, III, and unanimously carried, that the meeting was adjourned.
